OUR PHILOSOPHY

MAKIA

MAKIA is a project that is at the top of the international wine scene, which originates from the union and strength of the Italian experience, gained in 50 years, with great potential offered by the Argentine terroir.

Our goal is to find the highest quality product through attention to detail. High density planting ( 8,000 vines per hectare ), low yield per plant, manual harvest and meticulous attention to every step of the process.

Currently 40 acres of vineyard have been planted in the estate with prevalence of MALBEC, a wine with enormous potential, able to integrate seamlessly with the terroir and grape variety that is itself a symbol of this great country.

Thanks to the peculiarities of the microclimate, Argentinean Malbec manages to bring out its best characteristics, personality, structure and longevity that only the great wines possess.

CARE

FOR THE

ENVIROMENT

MAKIA is close to the environment and has already embarked on a strategy of low environmental impact. This philosophy reflects our desire to preserve the quality of our environment from pollution caused largely by the indiscriminate use of chemicals in the production chain.

IN

THE

VINEYARD

We begin then from the heart of our Estate, where we started a process of management of organic vineyards according to the protocols that include:

  • Elimination of the use of herbicides
  • Reduction treatments in the vineyard and prohibiting the use of chemicals.
  • The fertilization of the plants is made strictly with organic compounds.

IN

THE

OFFICE

Even in the administrative department MAKIA tries, as far as possible, to stand alongside the environment trying to avoid waste through:

  • Using recycled paper
  • Printing in black and white on both sides of the paper.
  • By sorting all the accessories used in administrative ( paper, glass, toner, batteries, ink cartridges, etc…. )

IN

THE

CELLAR

Even during the production and bottling of our wines we pay the utmost attention to all the operations that can minimize the risks to the environment or waste from manufacturing plants of sanitation practices, giving the priority to the use of raw materials produced with respect for the environment.
  • Using lightweight bottles that were produced through the recycling of glass so less CO2 entering the environment.
  • The use in the commercial line Makia of plugs produced by assembling clusters of processing residues of natural corks.
  • Use of labels produced with natural papers and printed from our suppliers with eco-friendly systems.
